About
Julia Newton – Writer of almost any genre, but favorites are: plays, poetry, tv pilots, the odd screenplay, and every once in a while, a novella. In addition to writing, she has begun noodling around with digital art. We’ll see how that goes.
Born in Virginia, educated in Boston, London, and Los Angeles in Philosophy, Piano Performance, Drama, Landscape Architecture, and even the paralegal “arts.” Major career highlights: writer/producer/creator/EP of half-hour comedy pilots/series for ABC, CBS, WB (now CW), and Fox; actor, New York premieres of works by David Mamet, A.R. Gurney, & Shel Silverstein; key-maker, Dickson Bros. Hardware, Cambridge, MA, and Associate, Melinda Taylor & Associates (MTA), Landscape Architects, Los Angeles.
On a lighter note, she has created school gardens with special needs fifth graders in LAUSD schools, and waited tables at 33 Dunster Street, Cambridge, MA, where she was fired for “bad attitude.”
This website has samples of both her recent work, as well as a few past projects. You are invited to browse around, see what you think, and if you want to read or look at more, contact julia@julianewton.net.
